UPDATE – Missing Helena Child Found Safe
The Helena Police Department issued a statement on Sunday, February 16, that a missing seven month-old child, willow Dawn O'Neill was found safe early that morning.
Corporal Buck Herron said that the infant was located at about 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, and that she was unharmed. All Herron would say was that the incident is still under investigation.
The baby's father, Joshua O'Neill had taken her without permission on Saturday morning, and a state-wide alert was sent out from the Montana Department of Justice.
The Montana Department of Justice has issued a statewide missing and endangered person alert for a missing seven month-old Helena baby.
Sergeant Brent Petty with the Helena Police Department said on Saturday morning, February 15, that the baby's name is Willow Dawn O'Neill, and that she was taken by her father.
"The missing child is a white baby with brown hair and blue eyes, and who is 26 inches long and weighs 13 pounds, and was taken by her father, Joshua O'Neill, during a disturbance," Petty said. "Joshua O'Neill is 42-year-old Caucasian male, with brown hair and blue eyes, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. According to officials, he reportedly does not have the proper means to care for the child. O'Neill and the baby may be in a dark green Pontiac or red Nissan pickup in the Canyon Ferry area, but could also have left that area."
