Missing Chance Geery Memorial Sword Returned by Student After River Search [AUDIO]

UPDATE: Saturday, January 18, 6:00 a.m.

News partners NBC Montana/KECI reported Friday afternoon, January 17, that a student returned the sword that was stolen from a memorial to the late Chance Geery. The student returned the sword after members of the Missoula City Fire Department spent over a hour in a fruitless search for the sword off the Higgins Street Bridge in the Clarl Fork River. No charges have yet been filed.

Missoula City Hoping to Recycle Record Number of Christmas Trees

Missoula is working to recycle more Christmas trees this year than ever before and, at least until January 12, there are lots of places for residents to bring their trees.

"Well, folks in Missoula can take their trees to four different locations," said City Forester Chris Boza

Megaload Will Not Enter Montana This Weekend – Permit Not Yet Granted [AUDIO]

News reports that the megaload of oil equipment headed for the tar sands in Canada would enter Montana sometime this weekend are erroneous, according to the Montana Department of Transportation.
