If you’re like me, then you’ve been longing for fall. I’m ready for all the heat and all the smoke to be history. I’m sure, however, that we have at least a few more weeks of summer weather left. So, to help us cope with the wait, I’ve compiled a few recipes to make it seem like fall is here.

Take a coffee mug and fill it with water, then add 2-3 caps full of vanilla. Place it in the oven at 300 degrees. Your house will smell like vanilla heaven.

Take an orange and poke whole cloves into it. This is an amazing holiday smell and one of my family’s favorites.

Fill a pan with water, then add cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, a few teaspoons of vanilla, a little cinnamon and one apple cut into quarters. Let simmer on the stovetop. Make sure not to let all the water boil out of the pan. This will remind you of Thanksgiving at grandma’s.

Fill a pan with water, then add a lemon, an orange peel, a few bay leaves, a couple cinnamon sticks and two tablespoons cloves. Simmer on the stovetop, making sure not to let the water boil out. This gives you a warm citrus aroma. Yum.

Try these over the next few weeks. You’ll love the way your house smells.
