Update-Monday,February 18, 2013, 10:30 a.m.

Missoula County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jason Johnson says the coroner's office has released the name of the 26 year-old man killed Saturday evening at the intersection of Reserve and River Road as Timothy Montgomery, a resident of Chicago who moved to Missoula 9 months ago. The investigation in Montgomery's death continues.

A few minutes after 9 p.m. on Saturday night, a 26 year-old man was struck and killed as he attemped to run across Reserve Street at River Road in the rain.

Sergeant Jake Rosling with the Missoula Police Department says the unidentified man was struck by a man driving a Dodge pickup truck. Rosling says no other vehicles were involved in the fatal accident.

Rosling says the road was wet from the evening rain, but was not icy at the time of the accident. The northbound lane of Reserve was closed for over an hour and traffic was diverted down River Road. The street was reopened a few minutes after 11 p.m.

Rosling said it is not yet known if alcohol or excessive speed were factors in the fatal accident, and detectives are on the scene investigating.

Neither the name of the pedestrian, nor of the driver of the truck have yet been released.
